Ipswich Writers’ Group

Below is an updated version of the blurb on the writing group that I co-founded.

We are an established prose-centred writing group with a focus on fiction and we are currently seeking members. We meet in the Quiet Room of the Friends Meeting House on Fonnereau Road, Ipswich. Meetings take place on the last Thursday of the month from 7pm to 10pm. There is an annual subscription of £12 to cover room hire.

We are NOT a creative writing class. Instead we hope to appeal to those who have been writing for some time or have a project in hand, who want coherent, intelligent criticism and support and who are capable of giving such criticism themselves.

Our intention is to be rigorous but friendly, to provide mutual assistance to writers from the environs of Ipswich who are serious about their work, to give them an opportunity to get away from their desks and interact with other writers. We hope to have some fun along the way. To that end, after the meeting, those members who wish to do so will retire to a hostelry serving intoxicating beverages.

If you’re interested, we’d love to hear from you. Please e-mail Paul – stouupe@googlemail.com
